滞在期間中は、連日にわたり長時間の濃密な打合せを重ねてまいりました
望月が担当する2階部分は、今回のプロジェクトにおいて最も神聖で重要な空間と位置付けられており、加えて1階の数カ所の設計・デザインを取りまとめるという大きな役割を担わせていただいております
「本物」と感じられる空間を目指し、シンプルかつスタイリッシュな中に『和』の精神を表現すること
そして、望月が提唱する『伝統の進化』をアメリカの地で具現化できることは、かけがえのない機会であると感じています
さらに、現地のアメリカ人職人たちへ伝統技術とその背景にある精神を伝えることで、新たな継承への一歩となることを願いながら、帰国の途につきます
また、建築主様のお取り計らいにより、往復の航空機および滞在先において大変快適な時間を過ごさせていただきましたこと、心より感謝申し上げます
そして、この貴重なコラボレーションの機会をいただいた戸田工務店とKominka Collectiveに深く感謝するとともに、本プロジェクトを成功へと導けるよう、引き続き尽力してまいります
Throughout my stay, I have been engaged in long, intensive meetings day after day.
The second floor, which Mochizuki is overseeing, is considered the most sacred and important space in this project. In addition, I have been entrusted with the significant responsibility of coordinating the design and layout of several areas on the first floor.
Our goal is to create a space that feels “authentic,” expressing the spirit of “Wa” within a simple yet stylish framework.
I feel that being able to bring Mochizuki’s concept of “the evolution of tradition” to life on American soil is an irreplaceable opportunity.
Furthermore, as I return home, I hope that by passing on traditional techniques and the spirit behind them to local American craftsmen, this will serve as a step toward a new form of cultural transmission.
I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the client for their arrangements, which allowed me to enjoy a very comfortable journey on the round-trip flights and during my stay.
Finally, I am deeply grateful to Toda Komuten and Kominka Collective for providing this valuable opportunity for collaboration, and I will continue to do my utmost to ensure the success of this project.
