ポートランド滞在 2日目
シカゴの自社工場への出張から
直接お越しくださった建築主様と
数時間にわたり打合せを行いました
夕食後には建築予定地を訪問
夏のポートランドは
20時を過ぎてもこの明るさがあります
「朝晩の現地の様子を見ておきたい」
という要望を受け入れていただき
翌朝も現地の山へ足を運ぶことになりました
今回のこだわりのひとつが
ポートランドから望む景観です
その代表が マウント・フッド（Mt. Hood）
市内からもよく見える美しい成層火山であり
オレゴン州を象徴する存在です
この山の姿を
設計の中にうまく借景として取り込みたいと考えております
Day 2 in Portland
We held several hours of meetings with the client, who came directly from a business trip to our Chicago factory.
After dinner, we visited the proposed construction site.
Even after 8 PM, summertime Portland remains this bright.
Accepting the request to “see the site conditions in the morning and evening,” we also headed to the mountains there the next morning.
One key focus this time is the view from Portland.
The prime example is Mount Hood.
It’s a beautiful stratovolcano clearly visible from the city, symbolizing the state of Oregon.
We aim to skillfully incorporate the silhouette of this mountain into the design as a borrowed landscape.
